Panel: Cinematic Non-Fiction: Art Against Expectations in Nonfiction

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

For the second year special guest programmer Robert Greene is presenting at the LRFF a sidebar competion in Cinematic Non-Fiction.  Documentaries that push against expectations of form have become commonplace on the film festival circuit and with audiences looking for something more than standard nonfiction. The need for artful storytelling is now somewhat taken for granted. So to stand out and to give their subjects and stories the best and biggest possible audiences, filmmakers are finding new ways to push against boundaries and formal conventions. Robert Greene will moderate a discussion about cinematic nonfiction with documentary journalist Eric Hynes and the directors of the artfully journalistic (T)ERROR, the smartly constructed BREAKING A MONSTER and the wildly experimental SWEATY BETTY. How do you stand out when everyone is making artful documentary?
